Wind Turbine Tower Kits (guy wire version)

Designed specifically to compliment Small Scale Wind Turbines in the 1KW power range, these tower kits offer a simple, substantial and effective way to mount your turbine on your site. The 'sectional' design allows both Installers and the DIY enthusiast to install up to a 1KW turbine in any suitable location, with a minimum of additional materials and tools.

The completed tower height is 7.5m, and is constructed from 3 x 2.5m sections of 48.3mm galvanised tube lengths. Each tower 'tube' is interconnected by a simple joining section, allowing the tower to be built easily, without the use of specialist equipment or concrete. (except in poor ground condition areas). For additional tower stability, you can purchase a second set of guy wires, which attach to the midpoint of the tower, if required. Please note, you may wish to use the optional Gin Pole to help to erect your tower, but this is not essential.

The guy anchors and main tower base, and all other parts, are galvanised for complete weather protection, and are fabricated using 'heavy grade' steel, to minimise the risk of failure. All towers are guaranteed against defect and mechanical failure for 12 months. The tower base and guy anchors can be 'driven' into firm ground, and will provide suitable tower security when installed as instructed. For additional safety, and for installation on unsuitable ground, it is recommended that these parts are 'concreted' into place. For this reason, the kits all contain additional 'reinforcing bars' for use in concrete foundations.

Self-Supporting Tower Kit 8m height (no guy wires)

Designed specifically to compliment Small Scale Wind Turbines in the 1kW power range, these tower kits offer a simple, substantial and effective way to mount your turbine on your site. The 'sectional' design allows both Installers and the DIY enthusiast to install up to a 1KW turbine in any suitable location, with a minimum of additional parts.  No guy wires are required with this type of tower, and it can be mounted in areas where there is limited site access, or space, to tilt the tower down to the ground.

The base section of this tower needs to be concreted into the ground using 2 cubic meters of concrete (35 Newton mix or similar). Reinforcing mesh for use with the concrete should be purchased separately from your local builder's merchants, and this should be used to secure the base into the ground in a horizontal position.  The tower then bolts on to this base assembly and can be tilted up into position, or can be erected vertically using a winch or "cherry picker".  In order to winch the tower into the vertical position, a wire winch will be required (not supplied). A "Tirfor" winch with a lifting capacity of 1.5tonnes is ideal.  Four 1m x 20mm ground anchor bolts are included in the kit. These are bonded into the concrete base, and are used to secure, and level, the tower base.

The tower height is 8m, and does not  require the use of guy wires.  These towers can be fitted with optional "padlock brackets" for additional safety.  All parts are fully galvanized, and the total tower weight, excluding the turbine is 178kG. The tower kit is supplied with full assembly instructions.

Buyer can uplift tower kits from Ayr, Ayrshire by prior arrangement. Deliveries within Strathclyde will be carried out by the manufacturer. All other deliveries will be by courier service. Postage costs for additional tower parts purchased will be advised when ordering.
